The Arboretum

Based upon the concept of an Arboretum, “a place for the exhibition of trees”, this unique residential development provides its residents a community that will offer a quality of life unparalleled in north Fontana. As in a true arboretum, the landscape design is the critical element for the character within this community. The Arboretum is designed around the concept of “eyes on the park” where homes are oriented so their front doors open up toward the parks and adjoining open spaces where possible. The 12-acre “Central Park” is patterned after a true arboretum. Its landscape design establishes different districts within to display unique specimens and groupings of trees from all areas of the world. A series of community and neighborhood parks are strategically located throughout the community to provide different levels of recreational experience for all residents. All of these elements are linked together by a strongly themed streetscape and community landscape that exhibit the different varieties of trees in a manner befitting a true arboretum.

Monrovia Station Square

Monrovia Station Square is a development that is comprised of four separate elements: a large office building complex, two separate mixed-use podium apartment buildings and a public park that intertwines between them. The office complex and mixed-use buildings are linked by Pomona Avenue, a spine road that runs between them. The Pomona Avenue and adjoining sidewalk areas are designed in an urban style that is to encourage pedestrian interaction with the retail portions of the project, and includes a fountain plaza on each side at the “icon corner” at Myrtle and Pomona Avenues. The park is centrally located between the apartments and the existing railroad easement. This public amenity is designed in a modern style that includes large, vertical decorative lighted elements that link the park up to Pomona Avenue. Once in the park, visitors can enjoy a water park plaza, a child’s play area, picnic areas and a restored historic railroad station that has an adjacent patio for dining.

The Santa Barbara at Chino Hills

This gated 25 acre, 308 unit residential development displays its Santa Barbara influence with features such as State Street, which is the central “spine” of the community. Characterized by generous landscape setbacks and pedestrian-scale, California-friendly plantings, the street is reminiscent of Santa Barbara. Themed courtyards are tucked in between the units, providing shared outdoor spaces with several varieties of gardens including palms and succulents. The residents at The Santa Barbara also share a working garden with raised planter beds, along with a dog park and a tot-lot play area for children. An outdoor kitchen area with barbeques allows users to prepare and grill their freshly picked produce from the working garden, while a spacious sun deck offers a pool and spa for relaxation. Designed as a horizontal mixed-use project, The Santa Barbara also hosts a 25,000 square foot, multi-building, retail center that sits at the north side of the project. This corner retail element offers residents the opportunity to conveniently access goods and services, contributing to the walkability of the community.
